Equipment
Equipment is not needed for those just wishing to try the sport, the club holds a good selection of recurve bows that are available during club nights, we do however insist that all prospective members attend a familiarization course of approximately 4 sessions (See Courses) where our qualified coach will take you through the basics of the recurve bow and all the safety procedures that are required by law. After the course and as a member of the club you will be welcome to continue using the clubs equipment until you wish to purchase your own. Archery equipment can be very expensive and it is best not to rush out and purchase the first thing that you see.
Junior Members
The Aylesbury Archers also has members between the age of 9 and 18 years and we are always looking for new blood (but not to shoot at!) however they must be accompanied by an adult and must attend the familiarization course, unlike some clubs our juniors shoot along side the senior club members.
Competitions
Club members are affiliated to the Buckinghamshire County Archery Association, Southern Counties Archery Society and Bucks County Sports & Social Club so can take advantage of events run by any of these organizations such as County Archery Coaching, Social Club quiz nights, bar etc.
